During the last 49 days Hugh has: Got through six pairs of trainers; Lost two stone since he began training – one stone of that has been lost through actually running the 50 marathons; Eaten 100 sachets of porridge; Burned 6,000 calories per day; Only had one blister and that appeared today, on his final day.

Hugh began his challenge to run 50 marathons in 50 consecutive days 1,310 miles away in Lisbon. Hugh was met by a huge crowd of supporters as he crossed the finish line at 3.15pm on  Wednesday 21st April 2010 at Trafalgar Square, London, UK.
